The Strela COSMOS CO40LAB Mechanical Chronograph
The CO40LAB chronograph is a testament to fine mechanical watchmaking. The watch design is inspired by the iconic Strela 3017 pioneer watch models that were used in space missions. The sides are brushed while the lugs and bezel are polished.
Dial Design & Features
The black dial of the Cosmos CO40CYB model echoes the aesthetics of vintage Strela watches. The black Latin Cosmos Strela dial mimics the slightly grainy, oily, and uneven texture typical of vintage Strela models. It features applied silver and green luminous baton indexes, luminous paddle hands using Superluminova, a tachymeter scale, and a telemeter scale. This design is a testament to Strela’s dedication to preserving its heritage.
NEW: Starting from June 2021, the glass case back is now a standard inclusion. The watch will be delivered with 2 case backs, one of which is a mounted glass case back. Should you prefer the steel case back or the engraving case back (sold separately), please let us know.
The watch is equipped with a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a meticulously crafted stainless steel case back engraved with the design of the predecessor Poljot 3017 movement.
Powered by the ST 1901 by Sea-Gull (TY2901), this hand-wound mechanical chronograph caliber boasts 23 jewels. It features a smooth column wheel mechanism and operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vph). The watch has a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute counter sub-dial at 3 o’clock, and a central-mounted sweep second counter alongside the main minute and hour hands.
The chronograph is operated using two push-buttons: the 2 o’clock button to start and stop the chronograph and the 4 o’clock button to reset the second and minute counters.
