The new Bronze Strela COSMOS CO40CYB-BR is an advanced 10 ATM mechanical chronograph. The watch design follows the well-known Strela 3017 pioneer watch models flown in space. Brushed sides, polished lugs, and bezel. Familiar design elements were combined a more modern and fresh approach.
The black dial of the Cosmos CO40CYB-BR model resembles the look & feel of vintage Strela models. Applied silver and brown luminous baton indexes. Luminous hands (Superluminova) with a tachymeter scale. A Strela design carefully cultivated over decades.
The glass case back opens a stunning view into the precise stunningly finished column wheel movement.
The watch comes with a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
Movement: The ST 1901 by Sea-Gull (TY2901) is a very precise and strong running hand-wound mechanical chronograph caliber with 23 jewels. A smooth column wheel and a balance wheel that operates at 3 Hz (21,600 vph). A small second dial at the 9 o’clock position, and a 30 minute counter (accumulator) sub-dial at 3 o’clock. Finally, a sweep second counter mounted centrally along with the timekeeping minute and hour hands.
The Chronograph is controlled by two buttons. One (at 2 o’clock) for starting and stopping the chronograph, one (at 4 o’clock) for resetting the second and minute counters.
In Conclusion, this chronograph is quite a fine mechanical timepiece.
