Description
The Tribute 1965TR40 is an exquisite hand-wound watch by Strela, featuring the rare Poljot Vintage Movement 2609. This watch pays homage to an era when precision and elegance were highly esteemed.
The watch’s case is made of polished and brushed stainless steel, with a diameter of 40mm (43mm including the crown). It has a height of 11.8mm and a lug-to-lug width of 47mm. The anti-reflective mineral crystal protects the dial from scratches, and the 20mm lug width allows for a variety of strap options.
The Tribute 1965TR40 houses the rare Poljot 2609 movement, which has not been in production for many years. Strela obtained some of these vintage movements from original Poljot stock and meticulously overhauled, cleaned, and re-oiled them. The Poljot 2609 movement boasts 17 jewels, operates at 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour, and includes shock protection, central seconds, and an impressive power reserve of about 40 hours. It is considered one of the most important and reliable movements ever produced by the 1st Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot).
The dial of the Tribute 1965TR40 is inscribed in Cyrillic and features golden applied numerals and indexes, as well as golden hands with a blue second hand. This imparts an elegant and refined appearance to the dial. The intricately decorated case back depicts the image of the extravehicular activity of Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov, the Soviet cosmonaut who was the first person to exit his spacecraft and float freely in space, tethered only by a rope – a historic moment in space exploration.
This watch is limited to 250 pieces and comes with a Strela textile strap and a Strela watch case.
