Description

The Strela MED40LAB is an advanced 10 ATM mechanical chronograph. This watch features two medically-oriented scales, distinguishing it as an Asthmometer-Pulsometer Chronograph.

This Asthmometer-Pulsometer watch is a specialized type of timepiece that includes scales for measuring both the respiratory rate (asthmometer) and the pulse rate (pulsometer). This watch can be used by medical professionals for quick, on-the-spot health assessments.

The asthmometer scale is used to count breaths per minute. You start the chronograph at the beginning of a breath and stop it after counting 5 breaths. The second hand will point to the number of breaths per minute.

The pulsometer scale is used to measure heart rate. You start the chronograph and count 30 pulse beats, then stop the chronograph. The second hand will point to the heart rate per minute on the pulsometer scale.

These scales are on the outer edge of the watch face and are used in conjunction with the watch’s chronograph function.

Additionally, this watch boasts a centrally-located, snail-shaped Tachymeter scale. A feature that allows the user to measure speed based on travel time or measure distance based on speed. The scale can be used in conjunction with the chronograph (stopwatch) feature to calculate an average speed or distance over a fixed period of time.

The MED40LAB model features a black glossy dial. It stands out with applied golden indexes and raised Superluminova dots. The hands, coated in Superluminova, further enhance the uniqueness of this watch.

The watch comes with a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and with a stunningly finished stainless steel case back. Engraved with the design of the preceding Poljot 3017 movement.

Movement: The ST 1901 by Sea-Gull (TY2901) is a very precise and strong running hand-wound mechanical chronograph caliber with 23 jewels. A smooth column wheel and a balance wheel that operates at 3 Hz (21,600 vph). A small second dial at the 9 o’clock position, and a 30 minute counter (accumulator) sub-dial at 3 o’clock. Finally, a sweep second counter mounted centrally along with the timekeeping minute and hour hands.

The Chronograph is controlled by two buttons. One (at 2 o’clock) for starting and stopping the chronograph, one (at 4 o’clock) for resetting the second and minute counters.
